NDI and streaming

Sending the verse to vMix, OBS, Resolume or a video switcher over NDI — including a transparent background so it keys over live video with no chroma key.

Turning it on

Settings → NDI → tick Trimite ieșirea ca sursă NDI. That is the whole setup.

There is nothing to install. The NDI library ships inside the application, so a church PC that has never heard of NDI can send a stream the moment the box is ticked. If the library somehow cannot load, the NDI tab says so in plain words and everything else carries on — NDI is a nice-to-have, never a dependency.

It is its own output

This is the important part: NDI is not a copy of a projector screen. It does not appear in the screens list and it does not follow any of them. Everything about it is on the NDI tab:

Fundal	Same as the projector, transparent, or a colour of its own
Text	The projector’s colours, or its own for each language
Fără dungile colorate	Drop the per-language background bands

So the projector can carry Romanian over English on black while the stream carries English alone, transparent, in yellow.

Transparent output

Set Fundal to Transparent and the frame is sent as BGRA with straight alpha — only the words are opaque. vMix, OBS, Resolume and TriCaster can lay it straight over live video with no chroma key and no fringe around the letters.

The projector is unaffected. It is a window on a screen and stays opaque; only the stream carries the alpha.

In your switcher, make sure the NDI source is set to use the alpha channel — in OBS that is the NDI source’s Allow alpha option.

Resolution and frame rate

The stream renders at the size you set, so it is never a scaled screenshot of a projector. 1920×1080 at 30fps is a sensible default; raise the frame rate only if your switcher needs it — the frame only changes when the verse does, and the timer re-sends the cached image in between.

When it starts and stops

The stream carries what is projected. It starts when you project and stops when you release, in step with the screens.
